According to a report on May 22, Argentina's Banco Masventas Bank recently said that it will cooperate with Bitex to launch a bitcoin cross-border payment platform for customers from Monday.
It is understood that Bitex was founded in 2014 and is a startup focused on asset trading in Latin America. The company is working with Argentina to build a bitcoin international trading platform for the region to replace Swift.
Bitex CEO Manuel Beaudroit said that this was the first time a domestic bank in Argentina used bitcoin for cross-border payments.
Masventas's main shareholder, Jose Dakak, believes that the bank will take more tangible steps to strengthen its digital smartphone service and reduce the cost of banking services.
He said: "Banks will work with Bitex to build a platform that can pay and collect payments for overseas customers."
Beaudroit said in an interview: "When customers ask banks to provide international payment services, banks will use the platform built with Bitex to conduct transactions. For customers, the trading services provided by the platform are transparent and they will not be exposed. Bitcoin."
