China issued a policy to officially launch the plan to phase out incandescent lamps

According to the introduction of the National Development and Reform Commission of China on the 25th, in order to accelerate the promotion of energy conservation and emission reduction, phase out incandescent lamps, and accelerate the promotion of energy-saving lamps, the Development and Reform Commission has initiated the preparation of the "China's phasing out incandescent lamps and speeding up the promotion of energy-saving lamps."

According to the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Development and Reform Commission has cooperated with the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility to jointly carry out the project of “China gradually phase out incandescent lamps and accelerate the promotion of energy-saving lamps” and support research and preparation of “China’s phase-out”. Incandescent lamps, speeding up the promotion of energy-saving lamps action plan. At present, relevant research work has been started.

According to the data provided by the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection, at present, China's lighting electricity accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption in the whole society. The use of energy-saving lamps instead of incandescent lamps can save 60%-80% of electricity. Incandescent lamps are all replaced with energy-saving lamps, saving 48 billion kWh per year (the annual generating capacity of all units of the Three Gorges Power Station is about 80 billion kWh), which has great potential and is an important way to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction targets.

Previously, according to the comprehensive work plan for energy conservation and emission reduction issued by the State Council, the Development and Reform Commission formulated and implemented the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” (2006-2010) plan to promote 150 million high-efficiency lighting products through financial subsidies, gradually replacing incandescent Lamps and other inefficient lighting products. After the implementation of this plan, the country can save 29 billion kWh of electricity a year, and emit 29 million tons of carbon dioxide and 290,000 tons of sulfur dioxide. According to experts' estimates, although the purchase price of energy-saving lamps is more expensive than incandescent lamps, the service life of energy-saving lamps far exceeds that of incandescent lamps (the minimum life expectancy of energy-saving lamps is 6,000 hours, which is 6 times that of incandescent lamps), and the power-saving effect is obvious. A 10 watt energy-saving lamp can replace a 50-watt incandescent lamp, and the annual electricity cost can be up to 28 yuan.
