Chinese lighting company NVC Lighting is the first to announce the elimination of incandescent lamps

Nowadays, the low-carbon, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly, green lighting hot discussion has made incandescent lamps begin to completely withdraw from the market. China is a big producer and exporter of incandescent lamps. Many lighting companies have long been prepared to open up new markets and adjust product mix. Energy-saving lamp manufacturers are taking advantage of business opportunities to expand production capacity. On July 5, NVC Lighting, the largest energy-saving lighting manufacturer in China, was the first in the industry to announce the elimination of incandescent lamps and advocate the use of energy-saving lighting products. It will no longer accept orders for incandescent lamps.

NVC lighting is the first to eliminate incandescent lamps

At the beginning of this year, the European Union announced that it will phase out high-energy lighting equipment such as incandescent lamps in four years, and replacing incandescent lamps with energy-saving lamps, halogen bulbs and LED lamps has become the main lighting for European residents. Recently, at the International Symposium on Eliminating Inefficient Lighting Products jointly sponsored by the National Development and Reform Commission and the United Nations Development Program, relevant persons pointed out that the National Development and Reform Commission is currently formulating a roadmap for eliminating inefficient lighting products, and plans to phase out different types of incandescent lamps in phases. The promotion of high-efficiency lighting products marks the end of the days of high-energy lighting products such as incandescent lamps.

The relevant person in charge of NVC Lighting said that energy conservation and emission reduction is not only a national strategy, but also a social responsibility of every citizen and resident of the enterprise. With the promotion and promotion of energy conservation and emission reduction by the state, users are more and more recognized for energy-saving lamps. High, the elimination of high-energy, non-energy-saving incandescent lamps has become an inevitable trend.

The industry believes that the time to eliminate incandescent lamps will not exceed 10 years, which means that the replacement of incandescent lamps, energy-saving lamps, tungsten halogen lamps and LED lamps, will occupy the market gap after the incandescent lamp exits.

The end of the incandescent lamp is coming soon

The so-called road map is the overall plan for when to completely eliminate incandescent lamps and how to eliminate them. Chen Yansheng, president of China Lighting Association, said.

China has implemented green lighting projects since 1996. In 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission and financial subsidies promoted high-efficiency lighting products activities, and subsidized 30% and 50% respectively for large-scale users and urban and rural residents to purchase energy-saving lamps, but so far, China has not given a specific timetable for the final elimination of incandescent lamps.

The relevant information pointed out that in addition to the timetable, the NDRC is still studying the supporting policies and special plans for the phase-out of incandescent lamps to promote energy-saving lamps.

The relevant experts of the National Development and Reform Commission said that in the future, the state will revise the performance standards and energy efficiency standards of relevant high-efficiency lighting products, improve the testing and monitoring capabilities of national testing institutions for the quality of high-efficiency lighting products, and further improve the quality supervision system for efficient lighting products.

Energy-efficient lighting companies directly benefit

At present, China's lighting electricity consumption accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption of the whole society, exceeding 430 billion kWh. If you replace all the incandescent lamps in use with energy-saving lamps, you can save 48 billion kWh per year, equivalent to 48 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. If the incandescent lamp is gradually replaced by energy-saving lamps in the next few years, the use of energy-saving lamps will increase rapidly.

Relevant industry insiders believe that in addition to policy promotion, in the future, with the improvement of performance of energy-saving lamps and the decline of cost, the market competitiveness of energy-saving lamps will become stronger and stronger.

As the largest energy-saving lamp manufacturer in China, NVC Lighting, which is listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong on May 20, will be one of the direct beneficiaries of the roadmap. As early as April 19, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance announced the 2010 government high-efficiency lighting project won the shortlist, and NVC Lighting won a total of 5 packages and successfully won the bid, becoming the big winner of this year's tender.

Despite the elimination of incandescent lamps, the future market prospects for energy-saving lamps are broad, but industry insiders also believe that there are still two major difficulties in replacing incandescent lamps with energy-efficient lamps. First of all, the quality of energy-saving lamps is still uneven, and some lighting fixtures are not suitable for energy-saving lamps. Secondly, compared with traditional incandescent lamps, the price of energy-saving lamps is still much higher. At present, the financial subsidy policy to encourage efficient lighting is too single. Some local government officials involved in the promotion of energy-saving lamps also believe that local subsidies alone are not enough to complete the goal of eliminating incandescent lamps within a few years, and local finances are under great pressure.

NVC takes the role of role as an example

In 2009, the output of incandescent lamps in China was 3.76 billion, accounting for about one-third of the world's production. At present, the national consumption of incandescent lamps is as high as 1.4 billion. If these lighting equipment adopts low-energy products, it will not only save energy, but also bring the most direct economic benefits.

The business opportunities contained therein are quite impressive. More and more companies, such as NVC Lighting, are involved in the research and development of energy-saving lighting, and gradually stop the production of incandescent lamps. In 2009, NVC Lighting invested and built a large-scale energy-saving lamp production base in Zhejiang, with an annual production capacity of more than 200 million energy-saving lamps. According to the 20-year development report of China's lighting industry promulgated by China Lighting Association on March 15, 2010, NVC Lighting is the largest manufacturer of energy-saving lamps in China according to 2008 production.

Wu Changjiang, Chairman of NVC Lighting, said that NVC Lighting has been implementing the green lighting concept of “Light Environmental Experts” and has always developed high-efficiency and energy-saving lighting as the core of its corporate strategy. It has comprehensively deployed the energy-efficient lighting industry. From 2007 to 2009, The total sales of NVC energy-saving lighting products accounted for an increase in the total revenue during the period, from 37.5% to 60.1%. At present, NVC is the largest energy-saving lamp manufacturer in the country and successfully won the 2010 government energy-saving procurement subsidy. To this end, we have taken the lead in the industry to explicitly announce the elimination of incandescent lamps, advocate the use of energy-efficient lighting products, and continue to strengthen the research and development of energy-saving products, and implement the energy-saving and environmental protection commitments of enterprises through practical actions.

Relevant industry insiders believe that NVC will take the lead and there will be more lighting companies to stop the production and sales of incandescent lamps.
