On December 2nd, at the VR sub-forum of the Caixin Summit held in Beijing, Wang Congqing, president of htc vive China, updated the first investment list of its global Vive X accelerator program. There are 33 VR companies, 40% of which are from abroad and 60% are domestic companies. In addition, in these 33 companies, content and basic technology each accounted for one-third, and the remaining one-third were accessories and underlying services.
These first batch of applications will receive four months of intense training and support in Beijing, Taipei and San Francisco.
In order to produce more high-quality VR content and let more people feel the changes brought by VR, htc vive launched the Vive X global VR accelerator program in April this year, set up an accelerator cultivation organization and invested more than 100 million US dollars. The pilot began in Beijing in the month. The launch of the program is mainly due to HTC's confidence in the VR market that greatly exceeds the size of smartphones.
It is understood that HTC received 1200 applications from more than 30 different countries in July. The second batch of applications can still be submitted in December if they have not passed or have not yet signed up. The whole plan will be kicked off in January 2017. The excellent VR products produced will have the opportunity to work directly with Vive for promotion.
Wang Congqing also revealed that the second batch of htc vive accelerator training program will have 40 companies, and "the second batch of companies is better than the first batch."
