Qualcomm updated Snapdragon 805 chip

November 21 foreign media reported that Qualcomm announced the release of the highest specification Xiaolong 805 chip, the chip embedded 2.5GHz quad-core clock speed and new Adreno 420 GPU, support for 4K or 3840 x 2160 extremely high pixel resolution video playback and 802.11ac Wi-Fi connection.

At the moment, high-definition televisions have achieved 4K high-definition video playback capabilities, and mobile chip makers are looking to move this technology to mobile devices. Qualcomm said that the new Xiaolong 805 chip has the storage bandwidth to support 4K video playback, achieving a full acceleration of low power consumption. At the same time, this chip also has an integrated LTE modem embedded in it and supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi.

Qualcomm Xiaolong series chips are widely used in Samsung, Google, HTC, LC and other brands of top smartphones and tablets. The Google's Nexus 5 model, announced at the end of last month, used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip.

Qualcomm said that the new Xiaolong 805 chip will appear in mobile devices in the first quarter of next year.

At the same time, Qualcomm also introduced a series of network processor chips for media servers and network devices. The chips will also be focused on the Internet of Things in emerging markets -- that is, Internet-connected devices as data collection tools, and networks that can send and receive data. This series of network processor chips embedded dual-core CPU, supports wireless networks including LTE and 802.11ac, as well as power line network and Gigabit Ethernet.
