The difference between Apple is that it combines the convenience of everyday mobile phones with the appeal of advanced augmented reality. Of course, today's smartphones shouldn't have any trouble with these basic measurement tasks, and there have been many applications in the past that have tried to do this. But as Google’s Tango phone shows, Augmented Reality offers us a more intuitive way to measure – allowing the phone to actually view the 3D space in its own view for more accurate measurement data.
Apple's advantage here is quite obvious: ARKit can do the same on newer iOS devices than Google Tango, which requires special hardware. At the WWDC earlier this month, Craig Federighi called ARKit "the world's largest AR platform" and his argument is not unreasonable. Millions of users who already have the necessary hardware can start using Apple's Augmented Reality right away.
Although ARKit is similar in its ability to Google Tango, its broader user base is more attractive to developers to invest time and money in application development. If Google Tango is for the future, then Apple ARKit is just looking at the moment.
Not long after the release of iOS 11 beta including ARKit, two highly accurate augmented reality measurement applications have been developed. As you can see from the developer's words, ARKit also has an advantage in terms of ease of development. There are still three months to go before the next-generation iPhone and the official version of iOS 11, and by that time, there should be an amazing amount of augmented reality apps for us to play.

For those who don't care about the small changes in the configuration or design of the phone, what really distinguishes the different products is their unique ability, or the ease with which the common features are used. Apple's iPhone is clearly more convenient than the Google Project Tango device, and its augmented reality experience will be much better than its competitors. If we are looking for innovators who bring augmented reality technology to the mainstream, it seems that Apple will be the most likely "suspect."
