When two MOSFETs are connected in series at the half bridge, the current limit is critical

caveat:

When two MOSFETs are connected in series ( half bridge ) , pay attention to the current limit, which is not always available on every MOSFET .

Potential problems :

If the current is unrestricted, the loss can continue :

Shorted by the low side MOSFET to VBAT ,

Shorted to ground by high-side MOSFET

Preventive measures :

Check if thermal protection supports any type of short circuit ( ground and VBAT)

Or use another smart switch that can withstand shorts to ground and VBAT .
