Zhengzhou will promote 120,000 energy-saving lamps within 5 years

On January 4th, 2010, Zhengzhou City issued the “Implementation Plan for Semiconductor Lighting Application Engineering of “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities†in Zhengzhou Cityâ€. It is required that from this year, in the case of new roads, parks, plazas, and remodeled government investment projects involving lighting products, in principle, semiconductor lighting fixtures should be used, otherwise the relevant departments will not establish projects. By 2015, the promotion and application of semiconductor lighting should reach 120,000 baht.
Semiconductor lighting, commonly known as "LED lighting", is a lighting fixture made by using LED as a light source, which has the advantages of high energy saving, long life and environmental protection.
The plan issued yesterday was clear, Zhengzhou New District and Zhengzhou High-tech Zone in Zhengzhou City will be used as the core demonstration zone, and the urban main road will be used as a demonstration zone to speed up the application and promotion of energy-saving lamps.
By 2015, we will promote the application of LED energy-saving lamps of 120,000 baht; drive enterprises and residents to use LED energy-saving lamps more than 300,000 baht; realize the annual output value of semiconductor lighting and related industries of 20 billion yuan.
According to the calculations of relevant departments of the municipal government, the application of semiconductor lighting fixtures is 120,000 baht, which can save more than 90 million kWh per year, save electricity costs of 63 million yuan, and save 55 million yuan in maintenance costs annually.
