NXP exhibited the JN516x series of wireless microcontrollers and a new evaluation kit that simplifies the commercial development of ZigBee, JenNet-IP, and other IEEE 802.15.4 applications at the Guangzhou Lighting Fair that opened yesterday. The JN516x wireless microcontroller series brings together the best combination of price / performance, on-chip memory and ultra-low power consumption, and software stack selection. The ultra-low power consumption of the JN516x energy harvesting switch can generate enough energy to transmit 8 wireless data packets. Without the battery or power connection, the LED dimmable lamp can adjust the color temperature like an incandescent lamp.
The JN516x evaluation kit is designed for using NXP JN5161, JN5164 or JN5168 wireless microcontrollers, and provides all the components needed for system development, including a series of wireless carrier boards, plug-in expansion boards, USB connectors, a remote control, An Internet router that has been specially programmed to run enhanced OpenWRT firmware and a complete software design suite. · Intelligent lighting demonstration based on JenNet-IP, using router to support WLAN or Internet connection
· ZigBee Smart Energy demonstration that allows users to experience energy service portals (via USB connectors), emergency displays (using display expansion boards), independent power and gas meters or range extenders
· ZigBee Light Link demo that allows designers to remotely control the colored LEDs on the lighting expansion board
· RF4CE demo that allows users to select, play, advance, stop, pause or change the volume on the Windows Media® Player application
