Trimming circuit for triggering bidirectional thyristor using bidirectional trigger diode
The figure shows a dimming circuit that triggers a triac using a bidirectional trigger diode. VR1, VR2, R3, and C2 form a phase shifting network. Adjusting VR1 and VR2 can change the charging time of C3, that is, changing the conduction angle of SCR, so that the current flowing through the bulb changes, and the dimming purpose is achieved.
A manual pulse generator (MPG) is a device normally associated with computer numerically controlled machinery or other devices involved in positioning. It usually consists of a rotating knob that generates electrical pulses that are sent to an equipment controller. The controller will then move the piece of equipment a predetermined distance for each pulse.
