Wang Caiyou introduced that at present, more than 85% of hospitals in China have established MIS (Information Management System), 50% of hospitals have implemented CIS (Clinical Information System), and 30% of hospitals use electronic medical records. At the same time, only 1/6 of the 333 cities in the country have carried out regional health informatization construction, and only some cities have realized data exchange and information sharing between medical institutions.

Wang Caiyou said that in terms of organization and management, the informatization work is faced with the difficulties of multiple departments, multiple levels, and poor coordination of business consistency. Moreover, the health informatization work involves scattered businesses, and the current various standards and standards are seriously lacking. In addition, the "short legs" of medical and health informatics discipline construction is a shortage of high-end professionals.
