Application of Capacitor in USB Interface Circuit

Capacitors are often used as interface bypass interference, but the most common capacitor misuse is the use of non-safety capacitors where static capacitors are used. In particular, nowadays products are becoming more and more miniaturized, and the space on the PCB is becoming more and more precious. Therefore, some engineers use high-voltage ceramic capacitors instead of safety capacitors, which can save cost and space, but there are certain risks. After all, high-voltage ceramic capacitors are not safety capacitors, and their reliability and failure modes are different. From a reliability point of view, any capacitor used for external interface bypass interference should use a safety capacitor. It should also be noted that the failure mode of a generally unsafe capacitor is a short circuit.
